Research & Pricing Methodology
Homeowners frequently face confusing, wildly divergent quotes from contractors. ServiceFind Blog publishes transparent "Fair Quote" estimates derived from rigorous empirical formulas rather than opaque national averages.
How We Calculate Fair Quote Cost Ranges
Our pricing ranges are calculated across three independent data vectors:
- Regional Union & Prevailing Wage Labor Rates: We index hourly labor rates by Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) through Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) construction wage indices.
- Wholesale Material Indices: We track real-time manufacturer wholesale material indices (copper pipe, architectural shingles, 200A electrical panels, R-value foam board).
- Permit & Municipal Surcharge Audits: We incorporate jurisdictional permit fees and inspection costs published by municipal inspectional departments.
Local Quality & Uniqueness Standard
Every localized guide published on ServiceFind must demonstrate at least three verifiable local facts (specific building code edition, regional frost line depth, soil clay expansion index, or historic district guidelines) and maintain at least 35% distinct content compared to parent articles. If an article cannot satisfy these empirical benchmarks, it is withheld from public indexing.
